I’m convinced that little things really do make all the difference.

I’d planned to write about schedules today, but the little tiny cold I had over a week ago? Apparently I overdid myself somewhere along the way, and ignored a couple important laws of health, no doubt. And… it’s back. Worse than ever and I feel quite miserably stuffed up and most definitely not top notch. Thankfully, most of the morning I was feeling okay and got quite a bit of necessary activities done, so tomorrow I can rest and get well again.

All this may seem unrelated, but it really isn’t.

I realized this afternoon that I was almost out of facial tissue. My nose is it’s typical cold self: red, and very sore, and I wished I could have bought some when we were in town a few days ago, and mentally sighed because I knew I’d have to use regular tissue and it’s so uncomfortable! I wished for kleenex right then, but figured I’d just hold out this time and restock for the hopefully a long time from now next cold.

Then I checked the mail.

The mail box was full of goodies.  I almost missed a little box clear in the back, but when I pulled it out a word caught my eye. It said “Kleenex”.

It was a little sample box of “the world’s softest tissue”, something I never signed up for, but passed on by a friend.

I don’t know who sent it for sure, but I’m pretty sure whoever it was couldn’t have known that I was sick again, and definitely couldn’t have known I was wishing for tissue, and likely couldn’t have timed it like this had they known anyway.

I think it was God, just telling me again that He knows our needs long before we ever ask or even think about them, and that He does provide.

Not always in the expected quick-trip-to-the-store for kleenex kind of way, but like an unexpected box of kleenex delivered just about right to my door step not an hour after I thought I might need some.

And it made me smile, and thank Him for letting me catch a glimpse of His care through my little box of unexpected kleenex.

Chantel, thank you for reminding me of this today…to look out for the little things and be thankful for them. God is so good to us undeserving creatures. Your story made my day. :)

Sorry to hear that you are sick too. It seems that a lot of folks are sick right now. I am finally feeling myself again after an awful flu like illness. Strangely, I am the only one who caught it. Which I think must be Murphy’s law or something cause I had just told a friend (she had a cold) that “I’m usually the last to get sick in our family or i don’t get sick at all.”
I had to eat my words just a few days later….

There’s nothing quite like Kleenex when it comes to sore noses… regular tissue doesn’t quite work out as well…

BTW, I wanted to thank you for the sweet birthday goodies; made my day!!
And also, I think I know who sent the Kleenex…… God’s timing is the best!! =D
And His faithfulness is never ending….

So glad they arrived, and hopefully in one piece! I didn’t have as much padding in there as I should have… :)

And, I’m guessing the tiny little SR on packing slip must’ve been you? :)

  3. Aw! How sweet! I love it when God takes care of us when we least expect it. He surely doesn’t take the “insignificant” things lightly.

P.S. I do hope you get over this cold quickly! *hugs*

Oh goodness, we must have shared the bug over the ‘net. Sorry to hear you’re worse–I fought it all last week and it finally got the best of me. And when I get a cold, I sure do get a cold. So, here’s to Kleenex–and scheduling another week in the future! :)

I just LOVE how God works!!! It’s the little things, you know? He cares. Love it. Hope you feel better soon! Those stuffy nose colds are the worst.

Lovely! It warms my heart when God blesses me (or anyone really!) in such a special way. He TRULY cares for the “little” things in our lives and delights to surprise and delight us with blessings – beautiful AND practical! :) *Hug!* Thank you for sharing – and I hope you feel better soon!

When I am down with a cold, I use a set of hankies that belonged to my Daddy, who is now rejoicing with the angels around the Throne. I know they don’t smell like his drawer anymore, but they do comfort me! :-) Thank the Lord for gentle kisses of His love, just to let us know that He is in the little things too!
