“When I write, I feel His pleasure.” My friend Gretchen wrote those words over on ylcf earlier this month, and they have re-echoed in my heart often these past weeks as I have pondered along with my fellow team writers the purpose for which our God created each one of us.
Sometimes I wonder at how hard it is to live with the passion that He puts in our hearts. It’s a fact passion and purpose don’t always come without pain. Yet, it is this very thing… the thing that compels me to write, that brings me to my knees and that reminds me with every agonizing effort to put into words the things on my heart, that I can’t do this on my own. I am not a writer, just a scribbler and I need Him. Every single moment. Without Him all the passion in the world is meaningless, worthless rubbish. All the words in the world are useless. I can only live my passion when I remember that He is the one who gives the purpose for which I write, in the beauty that I seek, and for which I live.
And yet, easy or hard, this is where I am meant to be. This is what I need to do. And when I write, I too, feel His pleasure.
young ladies christian fellowship is hosting a link up this week where you can share your passion and the purpose God has given you in this life and be entered for a chance to win some beautiful items from our readers and friends. be sure to head over and leave a comment or write a post and join us in sharing what it is that God created us to be.

“I can only live my passion when I remember that He is the one who gives the purpose for which I write, in the beauty that I seek, and for which I live.” This is so true. And you’ve said it so beautifully!
